In Jesus we are rebuilt to build.
Walls are structures within any parts they can be protective or restrictive. The story of Nehemiah is centred around the rebuilding of a broken wall. The theme of this biblical book is about God re-establishing his people both physically and spiritually.
Our lives are like broken down walls before we meet Jesus. He restores and rebuilds us. Once rebuilt we are called to build. Build not a name for ourselves, but to build his kingdom.
Nehemiah could not standby when he sees that things have broken down. Through prayer and planning, he unifies those who are willing to work on God’s mission. He has confidence in what God has put into his heart. He merely awaits the people’s response. Full of hope they respond: LET US START.
As we look back on the last 50 years, Jonny brings the word on the new start and what’s to come in the life of Renewal and beyond.
